Vassileios P. Vertoudakis is Professor of Ancient Greek Philology at the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He was born in Rhodes in 1965. He studied Classical Philology at the University of Athens, continued his studies with a scholarship from the Academy of Athens in Heidelberg, and received his doctoral degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is also a member of the Adjunct Academic Staff of the Hellenic Open University in the program “Studies in Greek Civilization.” His book Aristaenetus, Erotic Letters (Gutenberg, 2018) was honored with the State Award for the rendering of works of ancient Greek literature.
