Dimitris Prokos holds a PhD in Modern Greek Philology from the Department of Philology of the School of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. His doctoral dissertation focused on the concept of repetition and its functions in the Modern Greek oral poetic tradition, both at the linguistic and musical levels.
He holds a degree in Classical Philology and a Master’s degree in Modern Greek Philology and Literary Theory. His research has been published in academic journals and in the proceedings of international conferences.
Part of his doctoral research, conducted during the spring semester of 2024, took place in the United States at Harvard University’s Milman Parry Collection of Oral Literature, with the support of a Fulbright Foundation scholarship. He has also received financial support from the State Scholarships Foundation and the British Council, the PeopleCert Group, the Ecumenical Federation of Constantinopolitans, and the European Union through the Erasmus+ academic exchange programme.
He has worked as a teacher in both primary and secondary education, as well as a musician in concert, theatre, and film productions in Greece and abroad.
