A Research Fellow at the Centre for Hellenic Studies (CHS), King’s College London (and Niki Marangou Fellow, 2016-2018), Polina Tambakaki studied literature and linguistics [University of Athens (MA); King's College London (PhD)] and music (violin). She was a Hannah Seeger Davis Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Center for Hellenic Studies, Princeton University, 2008-2009. Her research interests include the relationship of poetry to music, the reception of Greek and Roman antiquity, and the relationship between literature and history. She is the author of The ‘Musical Poetics’ of George Seferis: A Case Study in the Relationship of Modernist Poetry to Music (2011, in Greek), and lead editor of the volume Music, Language and Identity in Greece: Defining a National Art Music in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries (Routledge, Publications of the Centre for Hellenic Studies, King’s College London, 2019).
