Emmanuelle Pouydebat is a research director at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and at the MECADEV laboratory — Mechanisms of Adaptation and Evolution, National Museum of Natural History. She has received the CNRS Silver Medal and has been made a Knight of the Legion of Honour.She is a specialist in the evolution of animal behaviour and performance, which she approaches from an interdisciplinary perspective. Among her published books are L’Intelligence animale: cervelle d’oiseaux et mémoire d’éléphants (2017), Atlas de zoologie poétique (2018), Quand les animaux et les végétaux nous inspirent (2019), and Sexus Animalus (2020).
